THE ICE FACTOR

Churchill Marquees have been appointed to provide the marquees and ice rink base for the Ice Factor this year.

The Ice Factor, the outdoor ice rink, is the most popular Christmas attraction in York and returns this November to its new location at McArthur Glen York Designer Outlet, celebrating its seventh successive season in the historic city.

Located outside the designer outlet, the award winning Ice Factor promises to be better than ever this year as the ice rink will become the centre piece for a Yorkshire Winter Wonderland surrounded by a festive market and traditional fair rides alongside the skating, all adding to the Christmas magic.

Churchill Marquees are pleased to be providing marquees for Illuminating York, the annual digital arts and lighting festival which invites visitors and residents alike to rediscover York in a new light!

YORK FOOD AND DRINK FESTIVAL

Churchill Marquees are proud to be supplying the marquees once again for the York Food and Drink Festival which runs from 16th to 25th September.

York Food and Drink Festival is unique because it is set in and around the many amazing historic venues of York.
The main focus of the festival is Yorkshire food and drink and it is run by an independent not for profit organisation.

There are two principal elements to the event. Firstly Parliament Street (free entry) consists of the markets, demonstration area, Yorkshire Bar and information point - a marquee will enclose the fountain in Parliament Street and make this an evening venue for events. Secondly there is both a day time and evening programme of events in York Guildhall, The Mansion House and in venues across York.

MARQUEE FOR GIANT TOAD IN THE HOLE

RED BULL FLUGTAG 2011, ROUNDHAY PARK, LEEDS

Churchill Marquees are pleased to be supplying marquees for the Red Bull Flugtag which returns to the UK this year on Sunday 17th July, and this time the event is coming to Roundhay Park, Leeds! THE WAKEFIELD FESTIVAL OF FOOD, DRINK & RHUBARB

Churchill Marquees are delighted to be supplying the marquees for the event, organised by Wakefield Council, which will take place on the 25 and 26 February 2011.

The festival celebrates the traditional links with rhubarb growing in Wakefield, while offering the finest and tastiest regional produce and showcasing the most talented local chefs.

MARQUEE EVENTS GO AHEAD DESPITE EXTREME WEATHER

The Churchill Marquees team breathed a sigh of relief at the start of the New Year after a hard few weeks in December making sure that all of our clients events went ahead as scheduled - despite the snow and extreme cold temperatures. We even managed to build a marquee in a location that had been declared the coldest place in Britain with record temperatures of -19 degrees!!!

TANS PARTY RAISES �25,000 FOR CHARITY

Churchill Marquees were delighted to provide the main marquee for Tan’s Party, a charity ball attended by over 400 people, on Saturday September 24th 2010, at Syningthwaite Priory, Wighill Park, Near Wetherby.

The evening was a great success, with delicious food, a great atmosphere & £25,000 raised for Breakthrough Breast Cancer.

ESCRICK CATERER RAISES FUNDS FOR YORKSHIRE AIR AMBULANCE

Churchill Marquees were delighted to provide the marquee for the recent fund raising event which was the brain child of Escrick based caterer Ian Robinson of The Thought of Food. Ian was keen to hold an event for local residents which would raise money for local charity, Yorkshire Air Ambulance. All in all it was a fabulous evening, well organised and with delicious food provided by the very talented Ian. The final total raised was £750. Ian can be contacted on 08000 934102.

YORK FOOD FESTIVAL 17TH TO 26TH SEPTEMBER 2010

We are delighted to be providing the marquees for the upcoming York Food Festival and are looking forward to it all starting on Friday 17th September.

The 10 day festival kicks off with demonstrations running throughout the day in our marquee in St Sampsons Sqaure ending with cocktail demonstrations and a chocolate evening; there are many other features over the 10 days, however, meaning there really is something for everyone so come along and get your mouth watering.

HARROGATE WEDDING SHOW ON THE 18TH AND 19TH SEPTEMBER 2010

As the busy wedding season comes to an end, we are starting to prepare for the many wedding fares coming up before everyone starts getting married again next summer.

Our first stop is the Harrogate Wedding Show at the Harrogate International Centre on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th September.
Come along to stand 40 to see what we have on offer and to take advantage of our exclusive Wedding Show discounts.

We will have different lining colours and styles available for viewing, different spacing, furniture and room options, as well as various venue styling designs from our sister company Norah Sleep Event Styling.

FARMERS MARKET CHARITY EVENT!

Churchill Marquees are proud to be supporting the upcoming Farmers Market at Ye Old Sun Inn in Colton in York on Sunday 18^th July from 11:30-15:30. An annual event organised by the owners, Ashley and Kelly, the Farmers Market offers a fantastic opportunity for a fun day out for all the family while raising money for Martin House Children’s Hospice in Wetherby.

As well as all the stalls, giving you the opportunity to try local foods, there will be free cookery demonstrations taking place from some of the top chefs in the region such as Richard Allen from Harvery Nichols and the recently acclaimed British Culinary Federation Chef of the Year, Stephanie Moon; there will also be face painting, bouncy castles and ice creams to keep the younger ones entertained, meaning the Farmers Market really is a great day out for all the family!

ROYAL VISIT

C&S were delighted to provide the marquee to shelter her majesty & local dignitaries from the elements when she recently visited Scarborough to open the new Open Air Theatre.

But, the mini heat wave at the time of her visit meant that structure wasn’t needed after all . So, the C&S team pitched up at 7am & removed the marquee before her majesty arrived at 10am.

OPEN DAY CANCELLED - BY ROYAL APPOINTMENT!

We are delighted to have been chosen to provide the marquee for the upcoming Royal visit to Scarborough this week. The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh will officially open the newly restored Open Air Theatre in North Bay on Thursday 20^th May and our team and marquee will be there to ensure that they enjoy the day, whatever the weather.

This does mean, however, that our build team are having to focus their time elsewhere, so our scheduled Open Day has had to be cancelled. We want to apologise to anyone who was hoping to come along – our facebook page will be updated soon with photos from the weekend Open Days though and we can be contacted by e-mail or phone (01757 249 174) to answer any of your questions.

WEDDING MARQUEE VIEWINGS – 28TH AND 29TH APRIL AT BURN HALL!

We’re sure your plans for your forthcoming wedding are now in full swing and you have been visiting all of the wedding shows in the area; you probably haven’t had an opportunity to see what a fully dressed marquee will look like though, after all they’re a bit big to get into the normal wedding show venues!

On 28^th and 29^th April we are holding a show event in the grounds of Burn Hall Hotel and Conferencing Centre, our new partners, from 4-9pm to give you the opportunity to see just how special a luxury Churchill marquee could look on your big day.

THE BIG FREEZE BUT STILL PARTYING WITH CHURCHILL MARQUEES!

How many of you have been affected over the holiday period by the snow or icy conditions?

Here at Churchill Marquees we’ve had an exceptionally busy time over the festive period. Despite the inclement weather that has affected nearly all of the UK, we’ve really been put to the test and are happy to say that not one of our customers have been let down.

Despite the many lanes blocked and inaccessible roads, we’ve constructed several marquees for our customers and have even hired JCB’s to clear roads and access points and other machinery to make sure that every event has gone ahead as planned.

So please remember if you are planning an event that the team at Churchill Marquees are on hand whatever the weather, and are also able to heat your marquees to ensure all of your guests stay warm!

POWERHAUL LAUNCH

Churchill Marquees were delighted to help out with the eagerly awaited Freightliners official launch of their revolutionary new locomotive – PowerHaul at their Leeds depot.

On a rather wet and blustery day Churchill Marquees provided much needed shelter and hospitality through one of their corporate marquees to host the launch party event. Despite the weather, using clear sided window marquee walls enabled Freighliner to ensure that PowerHaul was the centre of attention and easily visible and on display to the invited guests.

The PowerHaul locomotive introduces new state-of-the-art technology to the UK’s rail freight market and represents GE Transportation’s entry to the UK and European marketplace.

MINSTER FM RACE DAY WOWS THE CROWDS

Thousands of Yorkshire motorsport fans enjoyed a day in the fast lane when the local Tockwith Circuit hosted the first-ever Minster FM Race Day.

Churchill Marquees were delighted to provide Minster FM with their custom built, race team, pit lane marquee for the Minster FM racing team cars.

The temporary structures were perfect for such an occasion, providing a hospitality area as well as an area for Minster FM to showcase their cars.

The high-octane event saw four Minster FM presenters take to the newly revamped track for a head-to-head driving challenge, with cars supplied by some of York’s top motoring companies. Over 1,000 people turned up to watch the action and listen to the Minster FM roadshow, as well as taking part in karting events.

ROOM WITH A VIEW

Our panoramic windows were used to full effect at a recent wedding marquee built overlooking the Wharfe Valley in Yorkshire.

Churchill Marquees were delighted with the efforts of their internal marquee build team as they battled the hills of the Wharfe Valley to construct this fantastic marquee.

Guest were treated to one of the best views you are likely to get at any wedding from within the marquee and from the custom built terrace outside the marquee complete with white picket fence.

PORSCHE RALLY!

A great day out was had at Harewood House as Porsche enthusiasts indulged in their passion by joining fellow enthusiasts from across the UK and Europe at Harewood.

Whether you are an owner or an admirer there were over 500 Porsches in attendance.

C&S WITH THE STARS - LIVE MUSIC 2009!

As part of the Music in the Forest tour, Paul Weller will be playing at Dalby Forest where Churchill Marquees will be providing the ‘modfather of rock’ with over a dozen marquees for the event, including back stage production tents, bar area and catering tents to name but a few, for this spectacular woodland concert location this summer.
